Project Start date: 2015

Project Completion date: 2015

Atlas World designed & installed a bespoke audio visual system, St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.

St Anne’s Cathedral is an iconic listed building in the centre of Belfast. It is primarily a church, but also a popular tourist attraction and venue for many high profile events. Open to the public 6 days a week, it has a constant flow of visitors and contains many artifacts of historical importance, both in the fabric of the building and on display.

A key challenge in this project was to design a system to project evenly across the Cathedral, and also integrate sympathetically into the surroundings, complement the existing audio tour and not compromise the integrity of the building or the visitor experience.

Following a detailed assessment of the acoustics, layout of the building and the specific AV requirements, collaboration with the client, advising on equipment spec, layout and critical positioning of equipment was necessary to ensure project objectives would be achieved.

A retrofit installation programme, minimising disruption to the day-to-day operation of the Cathedral was implemented. Our experienced engineers worked discretely and professionally, working at height around the vast architecture and stained glass windows in the building. Our ‘no fault’ approach to installation resulted in a seamless commission and handover within the promised timeframe.

Atlas World is proud to have been chosen to undertake such a project in this landmark building. The clarity of sound throughout the whole building and discrete positioning of the equipment within the Cathedral is an achievement of intricate planning and accurate installation; qualities that Atlas brings to each project
